Role overview
This position is for an Inspection Coordinator based in Abu Dhabi IND and reporting to the INP Manager. The role focuses on coordinating shop inspection activities, managing communication between client teams and Bureau Veritas performing offices, and ensuring inspection deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Working relationships
The role interfaces regularly with the IND Manager, INP Manager, IVS Manager, worldwide shop inspection coordinators, the administration assistant, technical managers and assistants, as well as customers, clients and project management consultants. The coordinator is also expected to maintain direct contact with clients and with other Bureau Veritas contracting and performing offices.
Qualifications and background
Candidates should have strong English communication skills and prior experience in shop inspection coordination with a technical background. Preference is given to professionals holding CSWIP 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2, AWS-CWI, or ASNT Level II approvals in RT, UT, MT and PT, or to those with practical experience in inspection coordination. The educational requirement is any degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or HNC. The position requires at least 5 years of experience in a similar field.
Training and technical familiarity should include worldwide shop inspection coordination, Bureau Veritas shop inspection guidelines, technical knowledge, and a strong working understanding of international codes and standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS. Experience with quality plans, inspection report review, client specifications, technical requirements, and the application of codes, standards, project specifications and procedures is also expected.
Primary responsibilities
The coordinator will review contractual and technical requirements, provide daily coordination and end-to-end service support for clients, and define or review quality plans and related procedures. The role includes validating inspection assignment documents covering technical details, reference documents, schedules, milestones, reporting, logistics and coordination procedures, as well as defining Bureau Veritas interventions.
Additional duties include issuing instructions to Bureau Veritas performing offices with technical specifications, internal purchase orders and contact details; coordinating inspection schedules; liaising with performing offices during inspection execution; managing reporting and non-conformity treatment; ensuring inspection quality in line with the BV Quality System; following up on timely report submission; checking reports for completeness and correctness before sending them to the client; maintaining internal and external communication; reviewing and certifying internal invoices for payment clearance; promoting the Bureau Veritas service portfolio; and preparing monthly reports for client review and follow-up.
From a technical standpoint, the coordinator is expected to apply codes and standards, project specifications and procedures within their area of competence, conduct the activities assigned under primary functions, understand inspection techniques, review reports, identify required Bureau Veritas interventions based on the quality plan and applicable standards, and assess inspection procedures.
Business-facing duties include reporting day-to-day progress to the Senior Shop Inspection Coordinator, escalating areas of concern to the INP or IVS Manager, attending client meetings when required, and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.

The role requires adherence to company regulations, procedures and the Code of Ethics, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing. Ongoing development is expected through specialized training and seminars, and the position should remain current with shop inspection coordination practices and related developments.
Customer focus
The coordinator must ensure inspections are carried out according to the purchase order, approved drawings, inspection test plans and other relevant technical specifications. The role also involves regular contact with clients and project management consultants, understanding client needs, building trust, communicating openly, and monitoring customer satisfaction through frequent visits to client offices.
HSE and compliance
The role requires full compliance with legal requirements, BV Group HSE policies and procedures, and client HSE rules and practices. The coordinator must keep the work area tidy and free of hazards, report faults or risks immediately, participate in defining controls to reduce or remove risks, report HSE incidents promptly, cooperate in investigations, and use appropriate PPE. The candidate should also understand PPE control measures, replacement procedures and maintenance or inspection arrangements.
Performance measures
Performance will be evaluated based on report delivery time to clients, report quality and customer complaints, completion of inspection coordination within the allotted timeframe, additional sales or cross-selling opportunities referred, and the sharing of information, best practices and knowledge management contributions.
Monitoring
The position is monitored by the INP / IVS Manager and the WWSI Team Leader.
