Role overview
The Inventory Manager will oversee supply chain inventory planning and control, with responsibility for forecasting, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, logistics coordination, and cost management. The role also involves cross-functional coordination to support product launches and maintain compliance and service standards.
Key responsibilities
- Build long-term demand forecasts, raise and confirm purchase orders for raw materials and equipment, and keep inventory at healthy levels.
- Create and improve inventory control standards while reducing operating and logistics expenses.
- Track inventory quality, quantity, cost, turnover, and shelf life to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to help execute supply chain activities for new product launches.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and manage import, export, and warehousing activities.
- Monitor shipping timelines and freight pricing to maintain efficient, reliable, and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Partner with third-party logistics providers for warehousing and fulfillment, and take ownership of warehousing and distribution cost performance.
- Oversee reverse logistics and keep improving the cost and efficiency of warehousing and distribution processes.
- Handle additional tasks assigned by supervisors as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional background in the chain catering, chain coffee, or chain beverage sector.
- At least 5 years of inventory management experience in chain catering, including direct responsibility for controlling warehousing and distribution costs.
- Fluent bilingual ability in Chinese and English, both written and spoken, is required as the working language.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-moving environment and manage several priorities at once.
