Job description

IT Support Specialist

We are looking for a proficient and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to become part of our organization. This role involves offering technical assistance, resolving hardware and software problems, managing IT systems, and ensuring the seamless functioning of technology services throughout the company. The position is full-time and remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical assistance to end-users through various channels including phone, email, remote access, and in-person interactions.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to hardware, software, networks, and systems.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and business software.
  • Administer user accounts, manage access rights, and handle password resets.
  • Oversee and maintain the IT infrastructure, devices, and operating systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and technical processes.
  • Escalate intricate technical challenges to higher support tiers when required.
  • Support the deployment of software, system updates, and various IT initiatives.
  • Uphold IT security policies and adhere to best practices.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and technical support to all users.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Prior experience in IT support, help desk operations, technical assistance, or system administration is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 suite, networking concepts, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with hardware setup, software configuration, and end-user support.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in New Zealand.
