Role overview

This full-time janitorial opportunity is with a commercial maintenance organization that supports cleaning, landscaping, and restoration services for business facilities. The role is based onsite in Greece, NY and is part of a team environment focused on dependable service and quality standards.

The Janitor is responsible for thorough cleaning and upkeep of one assigned area within a building or across several client locations. Since day-to-day duties can vary based on customer needs, the person in this role must be adaptable and ready to handle a range of cleaning tasks as directed.

Schedule and pay

• Full-time position
• Pay rate: $15.50 per hour
• Shift: Morning
• Workdays: Saturday and Sunday
• Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Payment frequency: Weekly

Responsibilities

• Keep all floor types clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed
• Use chemical cleaning products and powered equipment correctly to avoid damaging floors or nearby surfaces
• Service restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entrance areas through regular cleaning and monitoring
• Remove waste from trash containers and dispose of it properly, including use of compactors where required
• Wash windows, glass panels, and mirrors with the right tools and cleaning solutions
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and support carpet shampooing and extraction work
• Restock tissue, paper, and other sanitary items
• Work according to the assigned housekeeping timetable
• Operate heavy-duty cleaning tools such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers when needed
• Take on additional tasks that match the customer’s requirements or the overall scope of work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent credential, or at least 6 months of experience in a janitorial role
• Employer-provided training will be available on the job
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions effectively

Preferred background

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work
• Exposure to custodial methods and commercial cleaning practices
• Understanding of floor-care methods such as buffing and waxing
• Background in industrial cleaning or facility maintenance
