Role Overview

This full-time on-site position in Doha, Qatar is focused on producing accurate cost estimates for joinery and custom furniture packages. The selected professional will study architectural and interior design drawings, project specifications, and site conditions to build detailed pricing for materials, labor, and fabrication. The role also covers bill of quantities preparation, supplier and subcontractor quote comparison, tender pricing, value-engineering suggestions, and bid documentation.

Key Duties

You will work closely with design, production, and procurement teams to verify scope, improve material efficiency, and ensure estimates suit workshop capabilities and installation methods. The position also contributes to project handover, supports budget monitoring, and helps keep cost records updated using actual project outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in joinery estimation and be comfortable interpreting drawings, preparing BOQs, and building accurate cost breakdowns for furniture and joinery works. A good understanding of joinery materials, finishes, hardware, fittings, and manufacturing methods, including CNC-based production, is important. You should be proficient with Excel, estimating tools, and basic CAD or drawing review software, and be able to collaborate with design, procurement, and site teams to resolve scope gaps and keep estimates aligned with schedules and installation requirements. Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage several tenders under tight timelines are essential. Clear written and spoken English is needed to prepare proposals, clarifications, and cost summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Experience in interior fit-out, joinery, or furniture manufacturing, preferably in the Middle East, will be an advantage. A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical field is expected.
