Job description
About the Company
Carma is a digital pre-owned vehicle retailer focused on simplifying the car-buying journey for customers in Australia. The business brings together teams across engineering, marketing, buying, and reconditioning to deliver a smooth, end-to-end experience.
Role Overview
As a Junior Automotive Inspector, you will be responsible for assessing incoming vehicles in detail, confirming they meet quality expectations, and documenting findings accurately. Your work will help ensure each car is presented in strong condition and is ready for its next owner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections on inbound vehicles, checking both the interior and exterior for issues such as scratches, dents, and stains.
- Verify that vehicle functions and features, including windows, locks, infotainment, and similar systems, are operating correctly.
- Enter inspection results and other vehicle details into internal systems with accuracy.
- Follow established step-by-step procedures carefully to support efficient workflows and consistent quality.
- Assist the broader automotive production team with moving vehicles, washing cars, and handling other general tasks as needed.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has some background in an automotive setting such as a workshop, retail environment, or insurance-related role. A genuine interest in cars is helpful, and a willingness to learn is equally valued. You should be comfortable using technology, especially Apple products, and able to pick up new systems quickly. The role suits someone who enjoys a hands-on environment, can manage changing priorities, and pays close attention to detail.
Location and Working Setup
This position is based at the St Peters office in Sydney, with free onsite parking and convenient access to train and bus services.
Benefits
Carma offers training and development opportunities for growth, regular social activities such as parties, go-karting, and bake sales, along with employee access to attractive deals on cars, finance options, and car parts.
Culture and Inclusion
The company promotes a collaborative, innovative, and enjoyable workplace. It also places importance on diversity, inclusion, and safe work practices, and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments can be requested during the interview process.
Additional Information
This is a permanent full-time role within the Automotive Production department.
