Job description

Role overview

This position is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and focuses on managing and coordinating engine shop visits for internal and external customers. The role is centered on supporting Sanad Aerotech’s long-term financial objectives while building dependable customer relationships and ensuring visit requirements are handled smoothly.

The Key Account Lead will typically manage a broader and more complex set of customer accounts than a junior key accounts manager. These accounts may be high-value or strategically important and may require additional attention and oversight. The role may also include mentoring or coaching junior account managers to help them grow their capability in customer account management.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned key accounts, including their performance, profitability, retention, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Spot opportunities for additional business, review performance indicators, and apply actions that improve results and commercial outcomes.
  • Resolve account-related issues early and professionally, including managing any outstanding matters in line with company procedures.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, logistics, and supply chain teams to plan and deliver engine shop visits effectively.
  • Use strong communication and coordination to keep planning and execution smooth across teams.
  • Attend recurring meetings with internal stakeholders and external customers to exchange updates, align priorities, and deal with issues.
  • Engage stakeholders actively to collect feedback, manage workstreams, and address concerns.
  • Arrange and lead weekly customer meetings to maintain regular communication, track milestones, and share progress updates.
  • Partner with Finance and Invoicing teams to review shop visit finances, assess costs and revenue, and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Contribute to informed commercial decisions that strengthen the financial performance of shop visit activities.
  • Support additional tasks as required to assist the wider team and business.

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a similar field is preferred.
  • A vocational or technical certificate/diploma in account management can also be accepted if supported by at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience handling complex aviation MRO agreements with a strong record of achievement.
  • At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing roles.
  • About 3 years of project management experience.
  • 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with V2500, Trent700, LEAP, and GenX engines is considered an advantage.

Competencies

  • Strong customer relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, along with effective presentation skills for varied audiences, including senior leadership.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to respond well in difficult situations.
  • Intercultural awareness and the ability to work effectively across different cultural backgrounds.
  • Practical understanding of engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes.
  • Basic financial literacy for reviewing labor and material costs and supporting commercial decisions.
  • Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a results-focused mindset.
  • Ability to coach and guide junior account managers using practical experience and best practices.

Additional information

This role involves managing engine shop visit coordination and account relationships in a way that supports both customer satisfaction and long-term commercial success. The position may also require oversight of financial and commercial viability for shop visits managed by another key account manager.
