About the Employer
Heritage Lifecare is a major aged care organisation in New Zealand, with a network of care homes and villages across the country. The organisation is known for its supportive culture, strong community values, and commitment to providing care with empathy and whānau-centred principles. Broadview Lifecare is an 85-bed care home and hospital with a 27-unit village, set in a rural environment in the riverside city of Whanganui. The site offers care across five service levels, including a Mental Health Recovery unit, creating a varied and learning-rich workplace.
Working Arrangement
This is a casual position, offered on an as-needed but regular basis. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, and weekends. The role is based onsite in Whanganui, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. The application closing date is 25 Jun 2026.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the kitchen team, you will assist in delivering wholesome meals to residents and help ensure their individual dietary needs are properly met. The work requires reliability, a hands-on attitude, and a willingness to support wherever needed in the culinary environment.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in catering or food service, preferably in a commercial kitchen, although training will be provided on the job. You should be comfortable communicating with others, managing your time effectively, and maintaining a high standard of service and food quality. A caring nature, strong customer service approach, and a positive, approachable manner are important for success in this role.
Benefits
You will be joining one of New Zealand’s progressive aged care providers, with access to a competitive pay structure aligned to experience and capability. The organisation also offers a collaborative workplace, room for professional growth, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to residents’ daily wellbeing.
