Job description

Role overview

Wood is hiring a Lead Expediting professional to support a project team working on a strategic gold mine and processing plant in Saudi Arabia. This is a long-duration, site-focused position, with an initial period based in the Riyadh office before deployment to site.

The role centers on making sure all procured equipment and materials arrive when needed, while working closely with vendors, logistics teams, and internal project stakeholders to protect the project timeline.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and update expediting schedules and progress reports.
  • Track vendor fabrication and manufacturing status closely.
  • Arrange factory acceptance tests, inspections, and readiness for shipment.
  • Identify delays early, take action to resolve them, and escalate issues when necessary.

Benefits and employee support

  • Medical insurance for employees and eligible family members in-country, including coverage for pre-existing conditions, with the number of covered children subject to KSA CCHI rules and age/coverage limits; employees may also choose a higher cover level at their own cost.
  • Employee Assistance Programme that offers confidential support for work-related or personal concerns affecting mental, physical, social, or financial well-being.
  • GOSI social insurance contributions for eligible KSA employees, paid by the company in line with government requirements for occupational hazard coverage.
  • End-of-service gratuity in accordance with Saudi Labour Law.
  • Paid examination leave, subject to company approval for study enrollment or continuation, for the actual exam days of an unrepeated year; the request must be submitted at least 15 days before the exam.
  • One professional membership, registration, subscription, certification, or license per year, provided it is relevant to the current role or part of a development plan and claimed through the expense process with supporting documents.
  • Recognition through the Inspire Awards programme for colleagues who demonstrate outstanding contribution, innovation, and commitment.
  • Long Service Award recognition at 5-year milestones to acknowledge commitment and loyalty.
  • Career development support through structured goal setting, feedback tools, and active coaching and mentoring from managers.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in expediting within industrial or mining environments.
  • Strong familiarity with fabrication, logistics, and documentation processes.
  • Previous experience working on EPC or EPCM projects in a site-based setting.
