Role overview

The Lead Researcher will drive ambitious artificial intelligence research programs, shape new ideas into practical solutions, and help push forward next-generation technologies. The role includes owning research initiatives from initial concept through final delivery, supporting and mentoring junior team members, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to turn research into usable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute original research in artificial intelligence, covering machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
• Manage research projects end to end while keeping delivery on schedule and aligned with organizational priorities.
• Build and test new algorithms and models designed for practical, real-world use.
• Keep up with fast-moving developments in AI and bring relevant innovations into ongoing research work.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to translate research insights into applied solutions.
• Communicate findings through written reports, presentations, and publications at leading conferences.
• Support and coach junior researchers and interns on research methods and project execution.
• Maintain high standards for ethics and responsible AI throughout the research process.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience conducting research in AI or a related area.
• Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Strong hands-on expertise with machine learning tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Solid programming ability in Python, R, or Java.
• Working knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS and GCP, along with big data technologies.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
• Proven capability to lead teams and handle complex projects.

Preferred capabilities

• Background in reinforcement learning, generative AI, or multimodal AI systems.
• Understanding of AI ethics and related regulatory requirements.
• Experience in grant writing and obtaining research funding.
