Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Liaisoning Manager in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The role requires close coordination with internal teams such as legal, operations, and finance to gather requirements, prepare documentation, address issues, and keep work moving within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage regularly with government departments, statutory authorities, local bodies, and related stakeholders to support approvals and clearances.
  • Track application progress, compliance paperwork, and official correspondence with careful attention to timelines and regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, and finance teams to understand requirements and compile supporting documentation.
  • Identify and resolve procedural issues by coordinating with the relevant external and internal parties.
  • Keep a close watch on changes in laws, regulations, permits, and compliance requirements relevant to the business.
  • Represent the organization in formal discussions and meetings with external authorities when needed.
  • Share clear updates, progress reports, and status summaries with senior management.
  • Maintain complete and organized records of submissions, approvals, and ongoing communication.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have prior experience handling liaison work with government departments, regulatory agencies, and local authorities, preferably in Kolkata or elsewhere in West Bengal. A strong grasp of permits, approvals, and compliance procedures is important, along with the ability to communicate persuasively and build professional relationships across different levels. The role also calls for strong documentation habits, careful tracking of multiple tasks, and the ability to manage deadlines while working on-site and traveling frequently within the Kolkata metropolitan area.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on background in liaisoning with government bodies, regulators, and local authorities, preferably in the Kolkata or West Bengal region.
  • Good understanding of the permits, regulatory requirements, and compliance processes connected to the business sector.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation ability, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Well-developed organizational skills for maintaining records, tracking applications, and preparing reports.
  • Comfort with on-site work, frequent travel within the Kolkata metropolitan area, and managing several priorities at once.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, or a related discipline; postgraduate study is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to use English and local Kolkata languages effectively, along with basic computer applications such as email, spreadsheets, and word processing tools.
