About the Role

The Corporation of the County of Lambton is hiring a Student Library Page to support library operations across Region 3 Libraries in Petrolia, Florence, Alvinston, Shetland, Oil Springs, and Inwood. This part-time position is based in Ontario, Canada and is part of the Cultural Services division.

The County of Lambton serves more than 126,000 residents across an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario. Its seven divisions deliver a wide range of community services, including libraries, museums, public health, housing, roadways, social services, planning, and more.

Role Summary

The main focus of this role is to shelve library materials quickly and accurately, help sort and organize collections, and support Cultural Services staff with material requests and related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Return items to the shelves in the correct sequence, including use of Dewey Decimal ordering where applicable.
  • Keep shelving areas neat and orderly.
  • Support preparation and delivery of programs when needed.
  • Help locate library materials requested by Cultural Services staff.
  • Assist with processing incoming or existing collections.
  • Contribute to organizing and arranging collections.

Candidates must be enrolled in high school or a post-secondary program, or take part in an employment initiative delivered by organizations that support people with disabilities. No prior experience is required.
