Job description

About the Company

ON.energy is creating the power infrastructure needed to support the AI-driven future. As electricity demand rises beyond what conventional grids and data centers can handle, the company delivers a new generation of power technology that has been proven at gigawatt scale and adopted by major cloud and AI organizations. Its systems are already operating across 2.5 GW of hyperscale campuses, have been validated by leading U.S. national laboratories, and are certified for grid-safe use by major utilities.

With proven products in deployment, ON.energy is expanding quickly and aims to turn power from a constraint into a strategic advantage for companies building next-generation infrastructure.

Role Overview

The Logistics Analyst will support the logistics organization by translating operational data into practical insights. Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this person will manage reporting systems, analyze freight spend, and monitor performance across carriers, vendors, and projects. The role connects raw logistics information with the decisions made by the Director, Coordinators, and other cross-functional teams.

This is a hands-on analytical position with broad exposure to the logistics function. It suits someone who is early in their supply chain or logistics career, is comfortable using Excel and BI tools, and values clean, dependable data systems while building a strong analytical base.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and improve logistics dashboards, trackers, and reporting workflows using Smartsheet, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Prepare recurring weekly, monthly, and project-specific performance reports for leadership and partner teams.
  • Keep shipment, freight cost, delivery date, and carrier performance data accurate across all active projects.
  • Build and manage a central freight spend database, comparing actual logistics spend with budgeted amounts by project, vendor, and transportation mode.
  • Review freight invoices and carrier bills against contracted pricing, identify mismatches, and help resolve issues with carriers.
  • Monitor cost per shipment and cost per project, then highlight trends and exceptions for the Director of Logistics.
  • Support freight cost forecasting for upcoming work by modeling expected expenses from equipment type, origin, and delivery timing.
  • Help evaluate carrier and forwarder quotes by creating comparison models for sourcing and routing decisions.
  • Track logistics vendor performance through scorecards covering on-time delivery, damage, billing accuracy, and responsiveness.
  • Prepare analysis and summary materials for quarterly business reviews with key logistics partners.
  • Use data trends to identify weak-performing vendors and document findings clearly.
  • Help improve logistics workflows, tools, and operating standards in partnership with the Director.
  • Assist in creating and updating SOPs, templates, and onboarding materials for the Coordinator team.
  • Research freight market conditions, carrier capacity, and industry benchmarks to inform planning and strategy.
  • Contribute to special initiatives such as system rollouts, tool transitions, and cross-functional analytics projects.
  • Work with Finance on freight accruals, invoice coding, and allocation of costs across projects.
  • Support documentation audits, shipment record checks, and data cleanup for the Coordinator team.
  • Review import/export paperwork to confirm packing lists, commercial invoices, and compliance records are complete and properly recorded.
  • Respond to one-off data and reporting requests from Project Management, Procurement, and executive leadership.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or another analytical function.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling, and dashboard creation.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting or visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work with large datasets from multiple sources and turn them into concise, useful summaries.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined data hygiene practices across multiple active projects.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities and deliver on deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Exposure to freight concepts such as LTL, FTL, FCL/LCL ocean freight, Incoterms, customs paperwork, or carrier billing methods.
  • Experience using ERP or SCM systems like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable platforms.
  • Background in energy, electrical equipment, data center, or industrial project environments.
  • Familiarity with freight audit and payment workflows or logistics cost accounting.
  • Interest in advancing into a Logistics Coordinator role or broader operations leadership path.
