Role overview
Whitwick Day Nursery, part of Grandir UK, is seeking a warm and enthusiastic Lunch Cover to support children during the middle of the day. The role runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm and is based in Whitwick, Coalville. It is suited to someone who enjoys working in a child-centred setting and wants to help little ones feel supported, engaged and confident each day.
The salary for this position is £13,332.80 to £14,008.80, depending on experience and qualifications, and the pay is reviewed regularly.

About the nursery
Whitwick Day Nursery is a friendly setting located in the centre of Whitwick in a refurbished former primary school. It offers a convenient location for local families and a welcoming environment for staff and children alike.
The nursery includes a large outdoor space with climbing frames, slides, a mud kitchen and a garden where children can plant, explore and learn through play. It also has a strong local community focus, with outings that help children build confidence and a sense of belonging.
The setting has four playrooms designed for different stages of development, from babies through to preschool, supporting children as they grow in independence, confidence and life skills.
Key duties
- Keep children safe, supervised and supported throughout the lunch period and beyond.
- Help set up and oversee activities under the direction of Level 3 qualified practitioners.
- Contribute to a tidy, attractive and welcoming nursery environment.
- Follow company policies, procedures and operational practices carefully.
- Maintain a positive, professional approach with children, families, visitors and colleagues.
- Take part in staff meetings, planning sessions and training whenever required.
Working arrangements
The role is a full-time position with working hours from 10am to 2pm.
