Role summary
FSSI East is hiring a full-time Mail Sorter for its first-shift team in Orlando, Florida. The role focuses on handling mail coming from the inserting equipment and supporting machine operators with production-related tasks.
Work schedule
This is a Monday-to-Friday position on the first shift, running from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Eastern Time. Overtime may be required based on production demand and can include earlier start times, later end times, and weekend work during busy periods.
Key responsibilities
- Move sealed envelopes from the inserting machine to the mail trays.
- Check that envelopes are properly stamped and sealed.
- Make sure mailing addresses and micro numbers can be seen through the envelope window.
- Load completed mail trays onto pallets.
- Handle sorting work across more than one machine at the same time.
- Support machine operators with setup activities before each job begins.
- Help clear stock and materials after each job is finished.
- Adapt to recurring schedule changes, including shifts that may exceed 10 hours per day.
- Take on additional department work when needed or requested.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal ability.
- Well-developed organization, time management, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.
- A customer-focused mindset and professional attitude.
- Ability to protect confidential information.
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization.
Physical requirements
This job involves frequent use of the hands and fingers for grasping and handling items, reaching with the arms, and communicating verbally or by hearing. The role requires standing continuously for as long as 10 hours per day and involves ongoing upper-body movement. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds without assistance. Required vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral, and adjustment of focus.

Compensation
The hiring pay rate is $17.00 per hour.
