Job description

Role overview

Yugo is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its student accommodation in central Swansea. This is a hands-on position where no two days are expected to be the same, and the focus is on keeping the residence safe, functional, and well cared for inside and out.

The role is based at CRM Crown Place in UK-Swansea and follows a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday. The annual salary for the position is £27,040.

The successful person will help maintain the general condition of the property, including communal spaces, carry out repairs and routine maintenance, and complete small-scale redecoration work when needed.

Key duties

  • Maintain the property to a consistently high standard so it remains attractive, functional, and well looked after.
  • Help keep students safe and secure at all times.
  • Handle planned and reactive maintenance work in line with service standards, including first-response repairs and support for specialist contractors where necessary.
  • Keep shared areas clean and presentable on a regular basis.
  • Make sure bin storage areas are orderly and bins are moved and rotated as needed.
  • Perform regular health and safety inspections, including fire safety, risk assessments, and legionella checks.
  • Meet the health and safety responsibilities linked to Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 by taking reasonable care of yourself and others and cooperating on workplace safety matters.

What the role requires

This role suits someone with a practical mindset who enjoys solving problems and getting involved in day-to-day operations. Previous exposure to maintenance, security, or facilities work would be helpful, and having a trade background would be an advantage, though it is not essential.

The position is ultimately about taking pride in the appearance and condition of the property and making sure the resident experience stays at a high standard.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay with an annual discretionary bonus.
  • 5 weeks of annual leave.
  • An extra paid day off each year, known as YuDay, to use for personal wellness.
  • Subsidised healthcare and an employee assistance programme.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Social events and other team benefits.

Additional information

The workplace is the student residence CRM Crown Place in central Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom. The job is full time and onsite. The stated pay is £27,040 per year, with both minimum and maximum salary listed at the same amount.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants a varied role in a student accommodation setting and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment.
