Job description
Role Overview
This contract opportunity is for an experienced management or strategy consultant who can apply high-end advisory thinking to challenging business problems. The work is centered on creating, testing, and improving scenario-based tasks that help evaluate advanced automation and intelligent systems in realistic commercial contexts.
The assignment is fully remote and designed for professionals who are comfortable working with complex, evolving research objectives. Compensation is listed at $100 per hour, with an expected commitment of at least 10 hours each week.
What You Will Do
- Craft and assess multi-party business situations covering topics such as market entry, positioning against competitors, and operating strategy, with the goal of benchmarking automated reasoning performance.
- Prepare detailed business cases, launch plans, and opportunity analyses using established consulting approaches.
- Convert large, multi-document inputs into concise executive memos, presentation-ready content, and quantitative analyses.
- Create and pressure-test scenario models, including planning simulations and sensitivity exercises, to identify difficult edge cases for evaluation.
- Set meaningful KPIs and stakeholder-alignment structures that reflect real advisory work.
- Support an ongoing research process by improving scenario quality based on feedback and changing evaluation needs.
What We're Looking For
- A background from a leading management consulting firm, such as MBB or a Big 4/5 practice, with experience in strategy, operations, or corporate transformation work.
- Ability to break down ambiguous issues into practical, action-oriented frameworks without needing close guidance.
- Strong Excel modeling skills and the ability to build polished, client-ready PowerPoint presentations.
- Excellent business writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, insight-driven memos and board-level narratives.
- Comfort working in an iterative research setting where priorities and scope may shift over time.
Additional Strengths
- Previous advisory work involving technology, SaaS, or platform-based companies.
- Experience building evaluation rubrics, decision trees, or structured analytical frameworks.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The role pays $100 per hour and expects a minimum of 10 hours of work per week. It is a remote contract position based in Canada.
