Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity in Singapore for a commercially minded executive who can lead growth across Southeast Asia for an industrial technology business. The role carries full profit-and-loss responsibility for the Singapore operation and requires someone who can shape strategy, expand the customer base, strengthen partnerships, and build a capable team in a fast-moving market.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, combining technical understanding with strong commercial leadership. The position is suited to a builder who enjoys ownership, scaling a business, and creating a lasting impact in a high-potential regional market supported by an established global technology brand.
What you will do
- Take complete accountability for the Singapore business unit’s financial results, including planning, forecasting, and performance management.
- Set and execute the commercial plan to grow products and services across Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian market.
- Lead, develop, and grow a cross-functional organisation covering sales, operations, and technical capabilities.
- Deliver profitable expansion in sectors such as oil and gas, shipping and marine, critical facilities including data centres, airports and hotels, utilities and water, and selected industrial segments.
- Spot new business opportunities, strategic alliances, and customer segments within industrial technology.
- Build senior-level relationships with customers, distributors, and other important stakeholders across the region.
- Strengthen and optimise distributor and partner coverage in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
- Represent the company externally at industry forums, trade bodies, and with government contacts to improve visibility and influence.
- Work closely with global and regional headquarters on strategic priorities, reporting, and cross-border initiatives.
- Promote a culture focused on accountability, commercial excellence, and ongoing improvement.
What they are looking for
- A strong background in a senior leadership position such as Managing Director, General Manager, Country Head, or a similar role in industrial technology, manufacturing, engineering, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on experience managing full P&L responsibility in an operational leadership setting.
- A proven commercial track record with revenue growth and channel development for products and/or services.
- Experience building and scaling B2B sales teams and distributor or partner networks.
- Solid understanding of Southeast Asian business culture, relationship-based selling, and regional market differences, with direct exposure to the region.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead diverse teams and develop high performers in lean, entrepreneurial environments.
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese for regular business use.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related subject.
Preferred background
- Experience in condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, reliability solutions, or asset performance management.
- Exposure to industrial software, IoT, or Industry 4.0 environments.
- Comfort with selling integrated hardware-and-software solutions.
- Experience in a global or European matrix organisation.
- An established network in Southeast Asian industry, government, or distribution channels.
- An MBA or equivalent postgraduate business qualification.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary of SGD 130,000 to SGD 200,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Performance bonus of up to 6 months’ salary annually, based on results.
