Job description

Role Overview

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for shaping, coordinating, and delivering the university’s marketing direction across core areas such as events, branding, web, and related communication activities. The role requires a strong strategic mindset to ensure all marketing efforts support the broader communications approach and institutional objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy in alignment with the university communications strategy and overall institutional goals.
  • Oversee the full range of marketing operations, including corporate marketing, student enrolment marketing, business marketing, branding, events, and web-related activities.
  • Create and maintain department guidelines, operating procedures, and working frameworks.
  • Build the annual marketing plan and budget, then track spending and authorize expenses as needed.
  • Support all university entities with marketing inputs, including campaign creation and event or conference planning advice.
  • Shape and safeguard the institution’s branding strategy, identity standards, and corporate messaging.
  • Define project goals, core messages, and expected outcomes for marketing, events, and web initiatives.
  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns and projects in line with the university communication strategy, timelines, and approved budgets.
  • Design and implement advertising initiatives that promote strategic university activities and events, while improving participation levels.
  • Review and approve final content for marketing projects to ensure all publications reflect the university’s messaging accurately and professionally.
  • Manage and update the university’s digital channels, including the website and email marketing platforms.

Experience and Skills

The position calls for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a closely related discipline, along with 8 to 10 years of relevant full-time marketing experience in a similar higher education environment. At least 3 years of that experience should be in a supervisory capacity.

The ideal applicant should have a solid grasp of marketing communications, branding, advertising approaches, planning methods, and strategic frameworks. Strong strategic and conceptual thinking is important, along with the ability to communicate vision clearly and motivate others.

Experience working with creative agencies is required. The role also demands excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to present ideas and requirements in a clear, logical, and persuasive manner. Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential, as is the ability to write and edit reports and business communications with clarity and precision. Proficiency in MS Office is also expected.
