Role overview

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is based in Athenry, County Galway, Ireland. The start date is July 2026. The role follows 12-hour shifts on a rotating pattern of 4 days on/3 days off and 3 days on/4 days off, with work scheduled from Friday to Sunday plus alternate Thursdays. The position is suited to someone with established warehouse experience who is ready to take on additional responsibility in a busy, safety-focused environment.

Key duties

The Material Handler will help keep warehouse operations running smoothly by supporting the safe, timely, and accurate movement of materials.

  • Handle receiving, dispatch, inventory control, and manufacturing support tasks.
  • Use material handling equipment such as pallet trucks, reach trucks, and forklifts.
  • Process shipping, receiving, and cycle count transactions in ERP/WMS systems.
  • Look into and resolve routine inventory, shipping, and receiving discrepancies.
  • Manage inbound and outbound freight coordination, including international consignments.
  • Use Excel at a basic to intermediate level for records, tracking, and reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support daily team huddles.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
  • Help prioritise tasks and organise workload effectively.

Candidate profile

Applicants should bring previous experience in warehouse or material handling environments, along with exposure to ERP or WMS tools and operation of electric-powered material handling equipment. Strong general computer literacy, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to obtain forklift certification are also expected. The role calls for solid communication, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
