About the role

Breeze Airways is looking for a Materials Specialist in Charleston, SC to support station operations and help keep aircraft maintenance supplied with the materials, tooling, and equipment needed to work efficiently. This position sits within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment and works closely with Maintenance, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Planning, and Maintenance Operations Control to support inventory flow and operational readiness.

The role reports to the Materials Operations Supervisors and is responsible for warehouse inventory control, shipping and receiving, stock handling, transportation of materials, and supporting both technical and non-technical inventory. The starting pay for this position is $18.50 per hour, and an additional $2.00 shift differential applies when working between 9:00 PM and 7:30 AM.

Key duties

  • Manage daily operations for Material Stores and Line Material functions.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to inventory accuracy, part issuance, shipping, receiving, stocking, material movement, and equipment handling.
  • Oversee warehouse activity for both technical and non-technical inventory.
  • Enter and maintain inventory records in the company system, including locating, issuing, receiving, shipping, and storing supplies, tools, and materials.
  • Work with Maintenance Operations Control on inventory, tooling, and special equipment movement for Aircraft on Ground recovery support.
  • Track stock items, minimum and maximum levels, and coordinate adjustments with Maintenance, Purchasing, and other internal teams.
  • Perform physical counts, inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations while following General Maintenance Manual requirements.
  • Support calibrated tool checks, shelf-life reviews, and replacements to meet monthly compliance obligations in coordination with Maintenance and Quality.
  • Carry out receiving inspections when assigned by Quality Control.
  • Prepare hazardous materials shipments in line with IATA requirements.
  • Assist Engineering and Maintenance Planning with fleet modification kit preparation.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Materials.

What you need

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience in data entry or inventory management, and a strong technical and analytical foundation for producing TRAX, Excel, and related reports. A valid driver’s license is required, along with a driving record that meets company standards.

The role also requires the ability to operate company vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and other ground service equipment, as well as to complete Materials and General Maintenance Manual training. Candidates must pass Dangerous Goods and IATA ground training, maintain recurrent certification, and be authorized to work in the United States. Additional requirements include the ability to operate 5K and 15K forklifts for shipping and handling aircraft engines and GSE, pass a 10-year background check and criminal history records check, hold a valid passport with no travel restrictions outside the U.S., and obtain/maintain SIDA and other required airport or customs security badges.

Preferred background

  • A 4-year degree in Business, Aerospace, or a related field, or a certificate from an approved trade or technical school.
  • Experience using the TRAX M&E inventory system.
  • Background in warehousing or stockroom operations.
