About the Role

Join Sobeys as a Meat Cutter in Kincardine, Ontario, and play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences. This full-time, onsite position involves preparing meat products, merchandising displays, and ensuring the meat department meets high standards. You will be part of a large Canadian retail family, contributing to a positive and engaging work environment. Please note that this role is with an independently owned and operated Franchisee, licensed by Sobeys. Successful candidates will be employees of the Franchisee.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly and professional service to customers, addressing their needs and inquiries.
  • Skillfully prepare a variety of meat products according to company standards and customer requests.
  • Maintain and merchandise the meat display area to ensure it is attractive and well-stocked.
  • Ensure the meat department is kept clean, organized, and meets all hygiene regulations.
  • Receive and manage incoming meat orders accurately.
  • Fulfill special requests for custom meat products.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere strictly to company meat standards and regulations set by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
  • Implement and uphold all applicable company operational standards.
  • Undertake administrative tasks as necessary for department operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to new staff members and clerks in the department.
  • Support the Meat Manager and Assistant Meat Manager as needed.

    Requirements

    • Possess comprehensive knowledge of meat department operations and cutting techniques.
    • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced retail setting.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • A minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in a similar role.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and provide necessary documentation during onboarding.

    Eligibility

    This position is open to individuals with a strong understanding of meat department operations and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. A High School Diploma and at least 12 months of experience are required. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
