Role overview
Applications are being accepted for a Meat Cutter to join the Limerick Marketplace team. The main goal of this role is to deliver a high-quality meat cutting service for Limerick MarketPlace customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in the meat area by helping shoppers, checking product quality, and preparing the full range of protein products for sale, including opening and closing the counter.
- Offer knowledgeable guidance to customers about meat products in person and by phone.
- Help maintain high standards of customer care throughout the department.
- Support sales growth and waste reduction while aligning with Marketplace targets and service standards.
- Take part in launching new product ranges whenever required.
- Protect the freshness, quality, and presentation of all protein items on display.
- Cut, prepare, and serve protein products from different species in line with best practice and to achieve maximum yield.
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and quality checks as needed.
- Maintain strong health, safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
- Keep daily legal records and other required documentation up to date.
- Follow clean-as-you-go practices, along with routine maintenance and deep-cleaning tasks.
- Follow SOPs and legal record-keeping requirements on a daily and weekly basis.
Requirements
- Good understanding of a wholesale or customer-facing business environment.
- Some experience in meat cutting is preferred; the role does not require deboning or primal cutting and packing.
- Candidates may be actively working toward a butcher qualification.
- At least 2 to 3 years of prior experience cutting meat in the same or similar scope.
- Relevant qualifications are needed.
