Overview

This is a fully remote opportunity in the United Kingdom for Medical Writer, Senior Medical Writer, and Lead Medical Writer positions. The role sits within a fast-expanding publications team at an award-winning medical communications agency that values collaboration, scientific rigor, and impactful publication work.

The position is suited to professionals who enjoy turning complex scientific and clinical information into clear, publication-ready content for healthcare professional audiences. It offers the chance to work with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients across a variety of therapeutic areas.

What you will do

  • Create accurate, high-quality publication materials such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, congress presentations, and related scientific content.
  • Translate dense clinical and scientific data into clear messaging for healthcare professional audiences.
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and external specialists to deliver work on schedule and to a high scientific standard.
  • Make sure all deliverables follow publication guidance, client goals, and strong editorial practices.
  • Juggle several projects at once in a busy agency setting.
  • For Senior and Lead Medical Writer levels, provide scientific guidance, support junior writers, and help shape publication strategy.

Requirements

  • Between 2 and 6+ years of medical writing experience in a medical communications agency.
  • Proven background in producing publications such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress materials.
  • An advanced scientific qualification is essential, such as a PhD, PharmD, or MD.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a scientific focus.
  • Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the publication development workflow.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
