Job description
About the role
Sealord Group Ltd is a New Zealand-based seafood business with international fishing, processing, and marketing operations. The company focuses on responsible management of seafood resources and places strong value on quality, its people, and sustainability.
The business is looking for a driven Merchandiser to support its South Island team. The position covers Sealord’s frozen and ambient product lines, including canned and pocket ranges, across Pak’nSave and New World stores in the greater Christchurch area.
This is a permanent part-time position for 6 hours each week, with extra time added during display weeks when needed. Work will be spread across several supermarket sites.
Work locations and schedule
- Riccarton and Hornby Pak’nSave stores on Mondays and Thursdays
- Halswell New World on Mondays and Ilam New World on Thursdays
- Wigram, Fendalton, and Lincoln New World stores for display builds only, as required
- Extra Sunday night hours during display weeks
- Early starts from 5:00am to suit store operating needs
Key responsibilities
Your main focus will be creating strong in-store visibility through cut-carton merchandising and building product displays so Sealord items are consistently well presented and easy to spot on shelf.
What we are looking for
- Experience in merchandising is preferred, especially in FMCG, although it is not essential
- Confident communication skills
- A team-focused, customer-first approach
- Genuine interest in Sealord products
- Reasonable fitness levels and a sharp eye for detail
- Ability to handle items weighing up to 10kg
- Full, clean driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle
Who will do well in this role
The ideal person will take pride in how products are presented, be comfortable working on their own, and still enjoy contributing to a wider team. Clear communication is important because the role involves regular contact with store staff and internal stakeholders.
This opportunity may suit a parent returning to work or someone wanting to add a few extra hours around another job.
Application details
Applicants should submit a CV along with a short cover letter. For further information, contact Yvonne Robb on 021 276 6033.
