Role overview

This remote contract opportunity is for a Biology expert with PhD-level training to support the safety and reliability of advanced language models in life science subjects. The work is part-time, with an expected commitment of 15 to 25 hours each week, and may increase to as much as 40 hours weekly depending on project demand and your availability.

What you will do

You will develop expert prompts and scenario-based tasks across areas such as molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, immunology, and closely related disciplines. You will also review model responses to judge whether they are scientifically accurate, useful, and handled appropriately when sensitive material is involved.

Working arrangement

The role is fully remote, begins immediately, and may continue into additional projects based on performance and ongoing business needs. Engagement is as an independent contractor, with payments issued weekly through Stripe or Wise. Prior experience in model evaluation is not required, as training will be provided on the process and guidelines.

Requirements

Applicants should hold a PhD in Biology or be currently pursuing one in a related life science field. Strong scientific judgment, technical writing ability, and clear English communication are important, along with experience creating prompts and technical situations for specialized biology topics.

You should be comfortable assessing and annotating model outputs, applying structured evaluation methods consistently, and using careful judgment around biosafety, biosecurity, pathogen-related topics, and dual-use information. Backgrounds in laboratory work, computational biology, research, reviewing, grading, or other technical content evaluation work are all relevant.
