Job description
About the company
Journey creates web, brand, and digital marketing work for some of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotel and resort brands. The company also operates as a technology business, with three products — Manage, Market, and Book — that help hotels increase direct revenue. That means the creative work is tied to measurable performance, allowing designers to see the real impact of what they produce.
The team values work that is both visually polished and commercially effective. The role sits within an agency environment where craft, speed, and attention to detail all matter.
What the role involves
This is a hands-on design position for someone who can take projects from the first brief through to final delivery. You’ll work on websites and campaigns for luxury hospitality clients, delivering work that is on-brand, high quality, and built for performance.
The pace is varied. Some weeks will be focused on website design; others may involve building campaigns across digital advertising, email, and social media. The work also includes motion and video elements, such as animated social content and occasional launch films.
You’ll be expected to work within a shared design system, adapting it thoughtfully for each client while keeping consistency and scalability in mind. The role calls for someone who can own projects independently, ask smart questions about what makes work effective, and contribute ideas as well as execution.
Use of AI is part of the workflow here. The team expects designers to incorporate AI naturally into ideation, production, and iteration, and to use it to move faster and explore further.
Key responsibilities
- Create digital work across websites, brand assets, campaigns, digital ads, email, and social for luxury hotel and resort clients.
- Adapt and extend the shared design system for different clients while maintaining consistency under the surface.
- Manage projects from brief to final output and take responsibility for the quality of the finished work.
- Contribute ideas to campaign concepts alongside the wider creative team.
- Produce accurate, polished artwork quickly and at volume, with strong standards for typography, structure, and detail.
- Develop motion-led content and video pieces where required, including animated social assets and short launch films.
- Build presentations that clearly communicate and sell the idea, and present your thinking with growing confidence.
- Incorporate AI tools into design workflows for ideation, production, and refinement.
- Stay informed about new developments in design, technology, and luxury hospitality, and bring relevant ideas into the work.
What you’ll need
- Approximately 3 or more years of design experience, ideally gained in an agency setting.
- A portfolio showing strong digital design craft and breadth across web, brand, and campaign work.
- Solid grounding in typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual detail.
- Understanding of web design practice and how digital work is built and delivered, including working inside a design system.
- Motion design and video editing ability, with experience in After Effects, Premiere, or similar tools, is a strong advantage.
- A modern, refined visual style suited to premium brands.
- Confident use of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- An AI-first mindset with existing experience using AI tools in design and production.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn quickly.
- The ability to manage deadlines and take ownership of individual projects.
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to contribute actively within a team.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in hospitality, travel, retail, or marketplace environments.
- Exposure to behavioural design principles and conversion-focused design.
- Hands-on use of generative AI tools for ideation, rapid prototyping, or research synthesis.
What you get
The business describes success as a shared effort and says it invests heavily in its people. The package includes a competitive salary along with benefits such as flexible working and personal development support, plus additional perks.
