Job description
About the Company
Pickerings is a well-established provider of temporary building solutions, supplying high-quality modular structures to a wide range of clients. Its work supports organisations such as schools that need extra classrooms, businesses that require additional office accommodation, and construction projects that call for office and welfare facilities.
Role Overview
In this depot-based modular role, you will work as part of the Leeds team to build modular structures from technical drawings and fit internal components to meet customer requirements and quality expectations.
Working Pattern and Pay
- Hourly pay: £17.65
- Location: Leeds Depot
- Working hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm
- Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate
Key Duties
Your work will involve reading CAD drawings and carrying out construction and fitting tasks on modular buildings, including internal finishes and service-related installations.
What You Should Bring
The ideal candidate will have practical experience across relevant industrial trades, including joinery, plumbing and electrical work. You should have hands-on experience with building, repairing and adapting modular or portable structures, and be comfortable working to deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards. Good teamwork is also important.
Other Conditions
Some of the construction activity takes place outdoors, so you must be prepared to work in challenging weather conditions. You also need the physical capability to move and handle large modular components.
Benefits
In addition to the hourly rate, the role includes 33 days of holiday time, covering public holidays and a festive shutdown period. You may also qualify for a merit-based additional payment linked to work ethic and productivity. Other benefits include a company pension, life assurance, cycle-to-work scheme and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
