Role Overview

This role is for an experienced Network Security Engineer with 8+ years of experience in managing and supporting enterprise network and security infrastructure. The position is based in Hyderabad, India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support firewalls, switches, wireless equipment, and SD-WAN platforms, including Palo Alto and Fortinet environments.
  • Review firewall rules, remove obsolete entries, and carry out compliance validations.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents related to firewalls, wireless systems, switches, and SD-WAN.
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues that keep recurring.
  • Address incidents involving firewalls, VPN connectivity, and network access.
  • Ensure incidents are validated and resolved within the agreed SLA timelines.
  • Set up and troubleshoot IPSec and SSL VPN connections.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in network or network security roles.
  • Strong command over networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.
  • Practical experience working with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.
  • Exposure to wireless technologies, routing, switching, and SD-WAN.
  • Ability to work with NAT, VLANs, routing, and DNS in enterprise environments.
  • Experience in analyzing logs and troubleshooting at packet level.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL practices such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • CCNA or CCNP Security certification.
  • Palo Alto PCNSE certification.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
  • Clear communication and incident reporting skills.
  • Ability to stay effective under pressure during critical security situations.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive approach to issue resolution.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with cloud networking.
  • Exposure to automation and orchestration tools or practices.
