Role overview
Crowne Plaza Canberra is hiring a Night Auditor to support overnight guests, handle front desk tasks, keep financial records accurate, and carry out key accounting duties during late-night shifts.
What you will do
- Handle guest payments by processing room charges, debit and credit card transactions, cash, and cheques according to established procedures.
- Welcome guests at check-in and check-out, and manage wake-up call requests.
- Respond to overnight calls and resolve guest questions or concerns.
- Run the night audit process using the property management system or its manual equivalent.
- Assist with concierge-style support and other special guest requests as needed.
- Use workplace safety gear, emergency equipment, tools, substances, and materials in line with instructions and safety procedures.
- Work with management to support health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives in the workplace.
What you need
This position calls for strong numeracy, customer service, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently through the night. You should be comfortable handling cash, using computer systems, and juggling several priorities at once. Prior hotel knowledge and familiarity with the local area will be helpful.
Requirements and working style
- Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
- Good accounting and maths ability for audit checks and payment handling.
- Experience handling cash, including counting, safeguarding funds, and processing cash payments.
- Comfort using computers, especially property management system software.
- Clear verbal communication and active listening skills for dealing with guests and housekeeping teams.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Understanding of hotel operations, services, and the local area.
- Strong people skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight or conflicting deadlines.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
