Role overview

The Operations Manager - Venues will report to the Director of Event Technology and is responsible for setting profitability benchmarks for each venue business unit. This role focuses on improving operational performance by increasing efficiency and productivity across the business, and by recommending as well as implementing process changes that strengthen results.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and track reporting frameworks for labour-efficiency measures within each venue unit, then analyse the data to spot patterns and trends.
  • Suggest and implement changes to labour planning and allocation that improve operational effectiveness and productivity.
  • Look for ongoing opportunities to refine and streamline operational processes.
  • Oversee the correct use of billing codes and ensure system compliance across all Encore venues.
  • Work with the Learning & Development team to coordinate a training programme that supports business needs and delivers consistent service standards and reporting.
  • Support the tendering process by preparing sales and billing information and reviewing labour requirements needed to manage venues.
  • Organise and keep records of operational inspections for all contracted venues, with inspections completed twice a year.
  • Provide information to help Operations Directors and Area Directors prepare annual budgets for each venue.
  • Recommend capital expenditure needs within venues to the Technology team.
  • Partner with the Technology team on installation coordination and venue upgrade projects.

Candidate background

The ideal candidate has prior experience in a comparable position and, preferably, a background in production. Experience working across multiple stakeholders is important, along with strong communication, service, organisation, and decision-making abilities. The role also calls for the ability to handle several priorities and deadlines at once.
