Role overview
John Daly Opticians in Cork is seeking an experienced Optometrist to join its established and supportive practice. The role is centered on delivering personalised eye examinations, high-quality clinical care, and a service experience that places each client’s comfort and vision needs first.
The practice is independent and long-standing, with a strong local reputation and a loyal client base. It operates a client journey focused on welcoming, discovering, and delighting every visitor, and provides a 45-minute eye exam so you have sufficient time to understand each client’s lifestyle and recommend suitable solutions.
You will be working with modern diagnostic tools and the latest developments in contact lenses, spectacle lenses, frames, and fashion eyewear. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a newly qualified Optometrist as part of a collaborative team.
Key responsibilities
Deliver thorough 45-minute eye examinations tailored to each client’s needs and lifestyle.
Provide clinical advice and recommend optical solutions that match the client’s individual requirements.
Maintain a high standard of patient care and support the practice’s personalised service approach.
Work closely with a friendly, team-oriented group in a busy and supportive environment.
Support, mentor, and guide a newly qualified Optometrist where needed.
Requirements
You should be a qualified Optometrist with relevant experience.
Current CORU registration is required.
A strong commitment to exceptional clinical care and relationship-building is essential.
You should be comfortable working as part of a collaborative team and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
What’s on offer
Salary of up to €80,000 per year.
CORU registration fees and professional indemnity insurance are covered, with AOI membership and indemnity insurance currently included on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.
