Job description
Role overview
This position supports warehouse flow by handling inbound and outbound freight in a fast-paced facility. The work involves loading, unloading, scanning, and sorting packages while following safety and operational standards.
Key duties
- Load and unload freight as part of daily warehouse operations.
- Scan incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
- Sort freight within the facility to support timely processing.
Skills, knowledge, and experience
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is an advantage.
- Strong people skills and the ability to work well with others are important.
- You must be able to complete initial and recurring training successfully.
- Physical capability is required to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages up to 150 lbs using the proper equipment.
Work expectations
This role is assigned a grade of 79. The pay rate is $21, and the schedule is Monday to Friday. Candidates must be prepared to complete any mandatory testing and training, work in a PC Windows environment, maintain recurring training and yearly accreditations where applicable, and take on additional tasks as needed. Work shifts may vary depending on business requirements.
Additional requirements
If the selected employee lives in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required. For roles where driving is a core responsibility, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license such as Class 5, G, or 1[AZ], and have no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Evaluation for such roles also considers the driver’s abstract, interview performance, and any driver competency assessments.
