Job description

Role Overview

The Stony Brook School is hiring a part-time English faculty member for its Gravitas online program. This is a teaching and mentoring position centered on student growth in both academics and character within a live virtual classroom. The role supports students through direct instruction, individualized feedback, and ongoing engagement outside scheduled class time.

About the School and Program

The Stony Brook School is an independent college-preparatory school serving grades 7 through 12. Its mission is to challenge students to know Jesus Christ as Lord, love others as themselves, and build knowledge and skill so they can serve the world through character and leadership.

Gravitas is the school’s online program, offering live teacher-led classes to students beyond the campus. The remote team works across time zones and partners closely to provide strong instruction, timely feedback, and meaningful mentorship in a relational online setting. The program is mission-driven and focused on helping students develop knowledge, skill, and character for lives of service and leadership.
