Role overview
In this position, you will be responsible for building and sustaining strategic relationships with major partners in the payments space. You will oversee partner performance, look for opportunities to expand existing business, support joint initiatives, and help manage smaller upgrade opportunities within the SMB customer segment.
Key responsibilities
- Build durable working relationships with key strategic partners and keep regular communication flowing.
- Serve as the main contact for partners and provide consistent support throughout the relationship.
- Monitor partner results and make sure activities stay aligned with business objectives and KPIs.
- Work with partners to uncover needs, solve challenges, and identify growth opportunities.
- Source and onboard new partnership opportunities in the payments ecosystem.
- Research the market to understand competitors, potential partners, and industry movement.
- Collaborate with partners on marketing, sales, and go-to-market planning.
- Help drive adoption of payment solutions so partners can meet revenue and performance targets.
- Equip partners with the tools, guidance, and training needed to integrate and sell payment products successfully.
- Support technical and operational aspects of integration and implementation.
- Partner with internal teams such as Product, Marketing, and Sales to ensure partners receive the right level of support.
- Negotiate partnership agreements, SLAs, and commercial contract terms.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all partnerships follow regulations and company policies.
- Review partner contract performance and confirm obligations are being met on both sides.
- Track partnership performance, including revenue, engagement, and other key metrics.
- Share insights and recommendations that improve partnership outcomes.
- Use data and analytics to measure effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to align on partnership initiatives.
- Help resolve operational, technical, or customer issues raised by partners.
Experience and skills required
- At least 3 years of experience in partnership management, business development, or sales within payments, fintech, or financial services.
- A solid record of creating and managing strategic partnerships that contribute to revenue growth.
- Working knowledge of the fintech landscape, including experience with payment processors, banks, ISOs, PSPs, or related financial ecosystems.
- Strong relationship-building and business development ability, with a focus on long-term collaboration.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new partners while growing existing accounts.
- Comfort using CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage pipeline, performance, and engagement data.
- A self-motivated, adaptable, and results-oriented approach, with strong teamwork and a positive attitude.
