Role overview

Join an aviation-focused organization that emphasizes integrity, teamwork, safety, and long-term career growth. In this role, you will clean aircraft and other metal components using chemical and mechanical methods, helping ensure parts are ready for further processing and inspection.

What you will do

  • Use a range of cleaning techniques, including manual cleaning with industrial solvents, chemical cleaning, grit blasting, and other mechanical cleaning approaches.
  • Run and look after metal-cleaning equipment such as vapor blasters, wheelabrators, deburrers, and blast cabinets.
  • Carry out cleaning at different stages of the workflow, including incoming, in-process, and final cleaning, and use drying methods such as hot water, air, and ovens.
  • Maintain cleaning tanks, check chemical strength, and complete titration testing.
  • Prepare surfaces for cleaning and non-destructive testing by masking where needed.
  • Sort and separate metal parts so the correct cleaning method can be applied.
  • Keep the work area tidy and orderly, and dispose of waste in the proper way.
  • Take part in continuous improvement work and cross-train in related tasks.
  • Follow all safety rules and immediately report any hazards, defects, or irregularities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance for about 75% of a typical workday.
  • Ability to read and understand English-language manuals, work instructions, and technical documents.
  • Comfort using a computer and the required software.

Preferred background

  • Strong understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Good knowledge of chemical titration.
  • Working knowledge of material safety data sheets and safe handling of hazardous chemicals and materials.
  • Familiarity with company instructions, internal processes, MSDS labels, and OEM manuals related to cleaning and similar operations.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
