Job description

Overview

Airswift is recruiting a Payables Coordinator I for a major oil and gas client. The role is well suited to finance professionals who thrive in structured, controlled environments and enjoy a mix of analysis, coordination, and issue resolution.

Core Duties

  • Review, process, and monitor supplier invoices while staying aligned with internal policies and control requirements.
  • Check billing rates and confirm that all backup documents are complete and accurate.
  • Draft payment requests and help move them through the approval process.
  • Apply the correct accounting codes to invoices in accordance with payables procedures.
  • Track contract spending against agreed values and flag any mismatches.
  • Keep records up to date and look into invoice differences or exceptions.
  • Handle supplier communication and resolve payment-related questions.
  • Assist with supplier setup and maintenance of vendor data.
  • Support contract updates, extensions, and change-order processing.

Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in accounts payable, finance operations, or a similar area.
  • Solid knowledge of payables workflows and financial control practices.
  • Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to handle a large volume of invoices efficiently.
  • Good problem-solving skills and an analytical approach.
  • Comfortable communicating with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Able to perform well in fast-moving, deadline-oriented settings.

Compensation

The pay range is $22 to $28 per hour, depending on experience, classification, and contract structure. Final compensation will be confirmed based on the candidate’s qualifications and the client’s requirements.
