Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for checking and processing attendance records so that employee salaries are calculated correctly and paid on time. This position also involves answering payroll-related questions and resolving mismatches while staying aligned with company rules and labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review employee attendance logs, timesheets, and working hours data.
  • Compute payroll components such as overtime, deductions, allowances, bonuses, and incentives.
  • Prepare payroll summaries and verify accuracy before final approval.
  • Work with the HR team to secure the necessary payroll sign-offs.
  • Release salary payments through digital payment systems or payroll checks.
  • Maintain payroll records securely, accurately, and confidentially.
  • Apply tax deductions and other legal deductions in line with company policy and labor laws.
  • Update employee wage details, salary changes, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Respond to employee questions related to pay and payroll processing.
  • Produce regular payroll reports for finance leadership and senior management.
  • Organize payroll reconciliations and align them with unified financial settlement reports.
  • Coordinate wallet top-ups and cash transfer workflows to support on-time salary disbursement.

Required Skills

The role calls for a strong grasp of accounting basics, payroll procedures, labor law compliance, Microsoft Office tools, payroll software, data accuracy, confidentiality, organization, time management, communication, payroll reconciliation, deduction handling, and basic numerical ability.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants with an accounting background or hands-on accounting experience are especially encouraged, as this helps with payroll reconciliation and financial settlement accuracy. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates with a high school diploma and relevant experience may also be considered. Prior payroll experience is an advantage. Certifications such as FPC and CPP are also preferred.
