- Maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and internal knowledge resources so they remain clear, current, and compliant.
- Administer employee expense claims and reimbursements through relevant finance and HR systems.
- Support employee engagement activities such as company events, town halls, and recognition initiatives.
- Keep HR data accurate and consistent across HRIS tools and reporting platforms.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate HR workflows to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
- Work across Finance, Legal, Security, and People functions to support compliant and scalable HR operations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a closely related function.
- Background in high-growth, fast-moving, or scaling organizations with strong personal ownership.
- Practical experience managing payroll across Canada, the US, and other jurisdictions.
- Solid understanding of Canadian employment law, CRA requirements, and tax compliance.
- Proven ability to manage onboarding for both employees and contractors.
- Comfort using HRIS and operational tools such as Rippling, Deel, Ramp, Asana, or Notion.
- Strong organizational ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for working across distributed global teams.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly.
- Genuine interest in employee experience, culture-building, and operational excellence.
Perks and benefits
- Base salary of CAD 120,000 to CAD 150,000, plus equity.
- Remote-first setup with flexibility to work from anywhere.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents in Canada and the US.
- Retirement savings support with employer matching through 401k / RRSP.
- Flexible paid time off, plus a company-wide break at year-end.
- Annual learning and development budget.
- Home office setup stipend and provided equipment, including a MacBook Pro.
