Role Overview

This position is for Phoenix - Sourcing, a returnship initiative created for women returning after a career break. It is designed as a six-month internship in Bengaluru, with an onsite work setup, to help participants transition back into the workforce through structured onboarding, learning support, mentorship, and hands-on project work.

The program is intended to provide a supportive environment where participants can rebuild their careers, contribute to meaningful business work, and potentially move into full-time opportunities with Myntra based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will support sourcing work across apparel product development and vendor management. The position involves planning, coordination, execution, and ongoing vendor engagement to help meet business, quality, cost, and delivery goals.

  • Plan and execute seasonal as well as short-term sourcing approaches using category knowledge in apparel product development.
  • Work with vendors in advance to secure capacity, confirm raw material readiness, and keep execution aligned with business timelines.
  • Share clear expectations around costing, production capacity, and delivery schedules to support margin and commercial targets.
  • Partner with Design, Buying, and Merchandising teams to suggest alternate constructions, materials, and sourcing options that improve cost efficiency and speed to market.
  • Use existing libraries of components, fits, materials, and vendor strengths to shorten development timelines and increase efficiency.
  • Manage the product flow from sketch to final delivery, including development tracking, sample handling, construction feasibility, and production coordination.
  • Ensure timely movement of Proto, Shoot, Catalogue, Fit, and PP samples while meeting GTM milestones and calendar dates.
  • Track vendor performance through follow-ups, forward planning, and risk control measures to reduce delays.
  • Build, manage, and coach a strong vendor base that can support both current and future requirements.
  • Review procurement costs, vendor quotes, and sourcing patterns to find cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
  • Handle vendor escalations by working with Warehouse, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to keep operations smooth and improve vendor satisfaction.
  • Take full ownership of the assigned vendor portfolio, including relationship handling, negotiations, performance monitoring, and business expansion.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in sourcing, product development, or vendor management in footwear or apparel categories.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing operations, forward working, production planning, and vendor management practices.
  • Solid commercial judgment with the ability to negotiate effectively and maintain healthy vendor relationships.
  • Comfort with costing, data analysis, planning, and interpreting business metrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced go-to-market environment.
  • A degree or formal training in Apparel Product Development is preferred.
  • Production or manufacturing exposure will be an added advantage.
