Overview
An opportunity is available to join the respected Therapy Department at Salford Royal Hospital within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. This Band 5 Physiotherapist role focuses on delivering person-centred rehabilitation and treatment for patients with complex and varied needs.
Role details
You will work as part of a supportive Band 5 rotational team and gain experience in a broad range of clinical settings. Rotations change every six months and cover Respiratory, MSK, Community Rehabilitation and Falls, Home First, CSNRT, Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Acute Care Medicine, Neurosurgery, Stroke, and Urgent Care.
Key duties
The post involves assessing patients, planning care, delivering and reviewing individual treatment programmes, and contributing to safe, effective pathways in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Take part in the rotational programme across acute and community services within Salford care organisation.
- Work independently within your professional remit and follow the agreed job plan.
- Take responsibility for your own professional growth through supervision, peer learning, and development activities.
- Handle a caseload by prioritising tasks, assigning appropriate work to therapy assistants, completing assessments, and using clinical judgement to identify patient needs.
- Create, apply, evaluate, and adapt treatment plans while ensuring the correct care pathways are followed and referrals are made to other services when needed.
- Travel across the Salford footprint during community-based rotations.
- Keep patient documentation accurate, complete, and compliant with Trust procedures, statutory requirements, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy standards, and HCPC codes of conduct.
