Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently when needed while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Carry out piping fabrication using methods such as cutting, threading, rolling grooves, and bevelling for both pre-spooled and stick-built pipework according to drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Install and assemble items like valves, fittings, hangers, and pipe supports so the piping system functions correctly.
  • Apply quality control processes and fabrication techniques throughout the job.
  • Read engineering drawings, fabrication details, specifications, and standards accurately to complete work to the required level.
  • Measure and mark out work with precision.
  • Follow all workplace safety requirements and protect the safety of colleagues.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Look after tools, equipment, and machinery and keep them in good working order.
  • Coordinate with engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management teams to support project delivery and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate work records, including flange management and fit-up tags, work packs, and weld maps.
  • Keep up with industry developments, new techniques, and best practices to improve capability.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade – Boilermaker, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Qualification options also include Certificate III Engineering Fabrication Boiler-making/Welding, Certificate III Heavy Metal Fabrication Trade and Welding, Certificate III Welding, and Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.
  • Hands-on experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, CrMo, and Inconel materials.
  • Practical exposure to both large-bore and small-bore piping work.
  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and P&ID drawings.
  • Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Compliance with HSE, sustainability, environmental, and quality rules of the company, its clients, and local authorities.
