Private Equity Associate, Consumer

A private equity firm with a growing presence in the consumer space is hiring an Associate for its investment team in San Francisco. This position provides broad exposure to the entire deal process and is suited to someone who enjoys a highly analytical, execution-heavy environment and close collaboration with senior investors.

What you will do

• Assess and help close new investment opportunities within the consumer sector.
• Create robust financial models and run valuation as well as scenario-based analyses.
• Carry out research on industries, companies, and market trends to strengthen investment cases.
• Contribute to diligence across financial, operational, and commercial areas.
• Draft materials for investment committee review and support transaction-related documentation.
• Track portfolio company performance and assist with initiatives aimed at improving value creation.
• Work directly with management teams, outside advisors, and co-investors throughout the lifecycle of each deal.

Candidate profile

• 2 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a comparable buy-side role.
• Strong ability in financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
• Experience in consumer, retail, or closely related sectors is an advantage.
• Clear interest in private equity and long-term value creation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented setting.
• A bachelor’s degree is required, and a strong academic record is preferred.
