Role overview
A private equity firm based in North Carolina is looking to add an Associate to its expanding investment team. The firm focuses on lower middle market businesses and invests across services, products, and technology-related sectors. This position is a full-time, on-site opportunity with broad exposure to the full transaction lifecycle.
What you will do
In this role, you will take on a hands-on and influential part in transactions from early sourcing through execution and portfolio support. You will help shape investment viewpoints, assess opportunities, and contribute to internal decision-making and negotiations.
- Support the full investment cycle, from developing investment themes and identifying prospects to building financial models, meeting target and portfolio companies, negotiating agreements, completing due diligence, and assisting with ongoing portfolio management.
- Coordinate diligence activities and help drive transactions through execution.
- Draft, review, and present transaction analysis materials for Investment Committee discussions.
- Contribute to origination by generating new investment ideas, building research, forming investment recommendations, and preparing memoranda and presentations.
- Analyze potential investments through valuation work and assess expected returns, risks, and mitigating factors.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and brings at least two years of professional experience after graduation and before any MBA, if relevant. Backgrounds in investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, or private equity are useful, though not mandatory. The role also calls for strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle several priorities at once in a small, fast-moving team environment.
