Role Overview

ZODCON is seeking a Procurement Engineer for its Eastern, Saudi Arabia location. This position is intended for Saudi nationals and requires a strong engineering background along with extensive procurement experience in project-driven environments.

Eligibility and Experience

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and bring at least 7 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.

What You Will Do

  • Draft and release RFQs, RFPs, and procurement enquiries for materials, equipment, and services linked to project needs.
  • Liaise with PMT, engineering/design teams, and vendors to confirm BOQs, technical requirements, drawings, and scope details.
  • Assess both technical and commercial offers submitted by suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Lead commercial discussions to achieve competitive pricing, suitable payment terms, delivery timelines, and contract conditions that align with project budgets and company rules.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders, service agreements, and procurement contracts within required timelines.
  • Build, update, and improve a dependable database of approved and qualified suppliers.
  • Search for, assess, and qualify new suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to meet project demands.
  • Perform market studies, supplier reviews, and pricing comparisons to support cost-conscious sourcing decisions.
  • Visit supplier sites when necessary to evaluate capacity, production strength, quality controls, and compliance.
  • Identify alternate sourcing options and suppliers to reduce risk and improve commercial negotiation power.
  • Handle advance payment requests and coordinate letters of credit and other trade finance matters according to company processes.
  • Verify that bank guarantees, bonds, and other required securities are received and valid whenever applicable.
  • Work with Finance and other internal teams to ensure supplier payments are processed on time.
  • Track procurement activities to make sure materials and services reach project sites as scheduled.
  • Coordinate with materials management, logistics, and project teams to monitor orders, shipments, and supplier delivery performance.
  • Ensure contractors and service providers are mobilized on time in line with contractual commitments.
  • Keep procurement documentation accurate and close purchase orders and contracts properly after completion.
  • Follow company procurement policies, contractual obligations, quality requirements, and all relevant regulations.
  • Prepare procurement status reports, supplier performance reviews, and sourcing recommendations for management.
