About The Role

Ignite is seeking an experienced APS 5 Procurement Officer to join a busy ICT commercial team. This role is crucial for managing high-volume contractor and labour hire procurement activities, overseeing the end-to-end procurement process and contract administration for a significant ICT workforce. The position is permanent, based in Canberra, ACT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all procurement activities for ICT labour hire and contractor workforce.
  • Develop, draft, and review essential procurement documents, including RFQs, tenders, contracts, and approval requests.
  • Ensure strict adherence to procurement regulations, legislation, and internal policies, such as CPRs and the PGPA Act.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, encompassing onboarding, extensions, variations, and offboarding processes.
  • Conduct thorough value-for-money assessments and commercial evaluations of suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of contractors and procurement activities within systems like SAP and PeopleSoft.
  • Process monthly receipts, clearance requests, and fulfill procurement reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to achieve successful procurement outcomes.
  • Assist in procurement planning and review business cases to determine optimal sourcing strategies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of procurement and vendor management procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract administration, or commercial support functions.
  • Familiarity with government procurement frameworks and compliance requirements (CPRs, PGPA Act preferred).
  • Previous experience in ICT procurement or managing contractor workforces is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in drafting procurement documentation and managing approval workflows.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or similar.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the capacity to handle substantial transactional volumes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities, effective with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Sound decision-making skills within established policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic document management systems (EDRMS or equivalent).

Additional Information

  • This is a permanent role with an initial 12-month contract and a potential 6-month extension.
  • A minimum NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory prior to starting.
