Job description

Position Summary

The Producer will support the Video Content team at BJU Press by coordinating short-form educational video projects that align with K-12 curriculum needs. This role blends project leadership, creative planning, and production coordination, with responsibilities that may include set and costume design, scheduling, casting, directing, and occasional on-camera acting.

About BJU Press

BJU Press creates products and services for Christian educators with the goal of helping students grow in both faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The organization’s aim is to equip educators with materials that prepare learners to live with an eternal perspective.

About the Team

The Video Content team supports the broader mission by developing engaging educational audio and video resources that strengthen BJU Press curriculum materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead video projects from early brainstorming through submission and production, working closely with writers, designers, videographers, and other creatives.
  • Bring together all contributions into a unified final concept that fits the intended audience and remains realistic for the timeline and team workload.
  • Develop project plan documents with team input, including creative direction, sample scripts, design ideas, and staggered deadlines that support on-time delivery.
  • Use Smartsheet to organize and track project workflows.
  • Assist with set and costume design when needed.
  • Keep projects moving so they are completed by the required deadlines.
  • Obtain images and props while ensuring all required permissions and acknowledgments are properly recorded through the Permissions department.
  • Coordinate with set designers, prop artists, makeup artists, composers, and other specialists.
  • Serve as the main contact for actors, arrange recording sessions, and maintain accurate documentation such as project charts and release forms.
  • Take on acting roles when the project needs, casting fit, availability, and workload make it appropriate.

Skills and Attributes

Success in this role calls for strong drama knowledge, clear communication, creative collaboration, self-direction, deadline awareness, and solid organization. A working understanding of BJU Press’s educational approach is also important.

Eligibility and Employment Requirements

Applicants must be born-again Christians with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Candidates are expected to affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission, and core biblical doctrines, and to maintain a conservative lifestyle consistent with the organization’s positions on topics such as alcohol, addictive substances, creation, marriage, human sexuality, and the sanctity of life. Employees must also be active members of a local Bible-believing church with orthodox theology. The role requires a commitment to delivering excellent education through a biblical worldview for Christian school and homeschool audiences.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree is required, along with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
