Program Manager, Outreach & Audiences

Role overview

This role is for an organized, imaginative, and mission-oriented program manager to help scale two public initiatives across the Asia Pacific region: OpenAI Academy, an AI learning and upskilling platform, and OpenAI Forum, a space for expert conversations about the future of AI.

The position focuses on shaping, adapting, and delivering programs that feel relevant to varied APAC audiences. You will help source and sustain regional partnerships, broaden audience reach across markets, and create accessible content that connects OpenAI’s mission with stakeholders in the region and beyond.

In practice, the role combines program planning, event coordination, audience engagement, and content support. You will contribute ideas for sessions, work with local partners on activations, and help ensure the initiatives are culturally appropriate, engaging, and effective.

Program execution and logistics

• Assist the Director of Outreach and Audience Engagement with the day-to-day delivery of Academy and Forum programming aligned to OpenAI’s global and regional policy priorities.
• Coordinate online and in-person events, workshops, and discussions across APAC, making sure the programming reflects local context and cultural relevance.
• Oversee scheduling, speaker and guest communication, vendor coordination, travel arrangements, and post-event follow-up for regional activities.
• Monitor key performance indicators, participant input, and program results, then prepare regular updates and reports across initiatives.

Content development and video editing

• Contribute ideas for session themes, regional speakers, and content formats that will connect with APAC audiences for Academy courses and Forum discussions.
• Support the creation of clear, easy-to-follow written assets such as discussion guides, course outlines, and event recaps, with possible adaptation for multilingual audiences.
• Provide basic video editing support, including trimming conversations into short clips, and collaborate with production and regional creative partners.

Community engagement and amplification

• Help build outreach relationships with educators, nonprofits, industry groups, and public-sector stakeholders throughout APAC.
• Partner with design and communications teams to expand the reach of Academy and Forum content through blog content, social channels, and public events.
• Collect and synthesize feedback from participants and partners to inform and improve future programming.
