Role overview
Maple Reinders Constructors is hiring a Project Coordinator to support its Civil Construction team in Calgary. This position offers the chance to contribute to major civil water and wastewater work across Alberta, while building experience across a range of project delivery methods, including Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management.
What you will do
In this role, you will assist Project Managers with the coordination of heavy civil and industrial projects. The position focuses on helping projects move forward profitably, in line with specifications, with strong quality control and a constant emphasis on safety.
- Take part in heavy civil and industrial project work
- Help prepare budgets, construction schedules, and project administration files
- Support correspondence with owners, architects, engineers, sub-trades, and suppliers under the direction of the Project Manager
- Learn how suppliers and subcontractors are selected and how quotations are obtained
- Assist with defining and clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers
- Build productive relationships with current and potential clients, consultants, realtors, and developers
- Keep site safety top of mind and follow regulatory requirements and the company’s health and safety policy
- Attend site meetings and support the closing of project deficiencies
- Help close tenders in coordination with senior management

Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry
- A university degree or technology diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant industry experience
- Experience on water and wastewater projects is a strong advantage
