Project Director

Role overview

This senior leadership role is focused on steering major construction developments in Dubai from the construction phase through to final handover. The position suits someone with deep experience delivering large, complex projects and leading teams to achieve safe, timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality outcomes.

In this role, you will be the central liaison for clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams, while providing strategic direction across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the end-to-end delivery of large, complex construction projects, including all site operations from mobilisation to completion and handover.
• Coordinate and guide project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to keep delivery on track.
• Create and execute project strategies, schedules, programmes, and delivery plans that reflect client expectations and contractual commitments.
• Track budgets, commercial performance, resource usage, and overall project status.
• Handle contract administration, ensuring obligations, claims, variations, and project requirements are properly managed.
• Spot delivery risks early and apply practical mitigation measures to protect time, cost, and quality targets.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, authorities, and project partners.
• Coordinate design, commercial, construction, and technical functions to support efficient project execution.
• Ensure adherence to UAE construction regulations, authority approvals, health and safety standards, and quality controls.
• Promote stronger delivery practices by improving workflows, efficiency, and project performance.
• Deliver regular status reports and clear updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Coach and develop project personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• PMP certification or an equivalent project management credential is preferred.
• At least 18 years of experience in construction, project management, or supervision, with a solid record of delivering major developments.
• Prior experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on large building projects.
• Substantial Middle East experience, including strong familiarity with the Dubai construction environment.
• Hands-on experience working within contractual frameworks covering contractor management, claims, variations, and commercial administration.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, planning, cost management, and risk reduction.
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
• Excellent client-facing capability, including direct interaction with developers, consultants, contractors, and government bodies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
